It’s a big day for coffee lovers! Alaska Airlines is collaborating with Stumptown Coffee Roasters and will offer its passengers an exclusive coffee blend onboard. The blend has been crafted for arid conditions at 30,000 feet. Its irresistible dark chocolate and cherry flavors will perfectly complement those Biscoff cookies, too.
Alaska Airlines x Stumptown
The new exclusive coffee blend was designed to elevate fliers’ experience at 30,000 feet. They will have the option to choose between 200 batches of coffee with 20 variables. Emily Rosenberg, Stumptown’s director of education and training operations, explained that the arid environment during a flight has been taken into consideration. As our senses of smell and taste diminish, the new coffee blend was crafted to be a bit sweeter.
The exclusive custom coffee will be quite different than Stumptown’s signature blends. The new one will be more mellow and toasted. Coffee lovers will get to taste a variety of sweet notes such as marshmallow, brown butter, toffee, citrus oil, or cherry. There will also be some dark chocolate and dried black cherry elements. Rosenberg shared that they had received positive feedback after testing the coffee on different flights.
The Signature Blend
If you have traveled with Alaska Airlines in the past, you’ve probably heard of the Biscoff cookies they serve. Well, the new blend will pair perfectly with those. Alaska Airlines flies to more than 120 North American destinations, and the new coffee mix can only be tasted in the air. The good news is that you can get a taste of Stumptown’s single-origin Holler Mountain drip coffee in JFK and PDX airport lounges, plus you can try their Hair Bender espresso beverages.

You’ve probably heard of other similar collaborations like the ones between Delta and Starbucks, JetBlue and Dunkin’ Coffee, and United Airlines and Illy. Despite the constant warnings of avoiding airplane coffee due to potentially unclean aircraft tank water, this new blend is brewed at 200°F, so there’s no need to worry.
